이 생명이 나타내신 바 된지라 이 영원한 생명을 우리가 보았고 증언하여 너희에게 전하노니 이는 아버지와 함께 계시다가 우리에게 나타내신 바 된 이시니라 (요일 1:2)   For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father,and was manifested unto us

나는 포도나무요 너희는 가지라 그가 내 안에,  내가 그 안에 거하면 사람이 열매를 많이 맺나니 나를 떠나서는 너희가 아무 것도 할 수 없음이라 (요 15:5)   I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abide in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

예수께서 대답하시되 내 나라는 이 세상에 속한 것이 아니니라 만일 내 나라가 이 세상에 속한 것이었더라면 내 종들이 싸워 나로 유대인들에게 넘겨지지 않게 하였으리라 이제 내 나라는 여기에 속한 것이 아니니라 (요 18:36)   Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

그런즉 내가 하나님의 제단에 나아가 나의 큰 기쁨의 하나님께 이르리이다 하나님이여 나의 하나님이여 내가 수금으로 주를 찬양하리이다 (시편 43:4)   Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

내 형제들아 너희가 여러 가지 시험을 당하거든 온전히 기쁘게 여기라. (약 1:2)My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

여호와께서 너의 출입을 지금부터 영원까지 지키시리로다. (시 121: 8)   The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

내게 능력 주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라 (빌 4:13)   I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

능히 모든 성도와 함께 지식에 넘치는 그리스도의 사랑을 알고  그 너비와 길이와 높이와 깊이가 어떠함을 깨달아 하나님의 모든 충만하신 것으로 너희에게 충만하게 하시기를 구하노라 (엡 3:18-19)   May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passed knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

천국은 마치 밭에 감추인 보화와 같으니 사람이 이를 발견한 후 숨겨 두고 기뻐하며 돌아가서 자기의 소유를 다 팔아 그 밭을 사느니라 (마 13:44)   "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

내가 문이니 누구든지 나로 말미암아 들어가면 구원을 받고 또는 들어가며 나오며 꼴을 얻으리라도둑이 오는 것은 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이요 내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라 (요 10:9-10)   I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

내가 혹시 말하기를 흑암이 반드시 나를 덮고 나를 두른 빛은 밤이 되리라 할지라도주에게서는 흑암이 숨기지 못하며 밤이 낮과 같이 비추이나니 주에게는 흑암과 빛이 같음이니이다 (시 139:11-12)   If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,"even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

여자가 그 나무를 본즉 먹음직도 하고 보암직도 하고 지혜롭게 할만큼 탐스럽기도 한 나무인지라 여자가 그 실과를 따먹고 자기와 함께한 남편에게도 주매 그도 먹은지라이에 그들의 눈이 밝아 자기들의 몸이 벗은 줄을 알고 무화과나무 잎을 엮어 치마를 하였더라(창세기 3:6-7)   When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

네 짐을 여호와께 맡기라 그가 너를 붙드시고 의인의 요동함을 영원히 허락하지 아니하시리로다. (시 55:22)   Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

나에게 이르시기를 내 은혜가 네게 족하도다 이는 내 능력이 약한 데서 온전하여짐이라 하신지라 그러므로 도리어 크게 기뻐함으로 나의 여러 약한 것들에 대하여 자랑하리니 이는 그리스도의 능력이 내게 머물게 하려 함이라 (고후 12:9)   But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
